The
four-dimensional woman and the jazz-scented moon
by Alison Ross
The four-dimensional woman
climbs through cumulus clouds
to a jazz-drenched moon.
The four-dimensional woman
smashes the jazz-drenched moon
into atoms of a silver-tongued sun.
The silver-tongued sun
licks the four-dimensional woman
and she melts into ashes.
The ashes flower into the notes of jazz
and fly upward
toward a sky complicated with too many stars
in the shape of saxophones.
The saxophones unfurl
into amorphous clouds that form a moon
scented with four dimensions of rhythm
and the tempo of a tongueless sun.
